Two gnarled tables stretches the length of the clearing a smashed carrage pushed against the cornor, laying next to a large pile of ruble and corpses. Three tents encircled the clearing, two of which were fashioned from giant bones and furs they towered over the rest of the camp, reaching to the top of the canopy of trees around them. The third tent was smaller, the bones had been sharpened into spikes, and the furs had been replaced with a scaled skin. At the back of the camp stood a palisade of spears and paliasiades hideing a prisoners camp, littered with bones. Stood in the center a large carved beam, strung to it was a carcass slashed and burnt.

Concept Description - White Stone
The small town of white stone, its red slate roofs reflecting the sun glow in the midday sun, in the center of the village stands the statue of Asura, towering over the marketplace, houses stood around the center of the statue. A large church stood at the east of the village, overlooking the calm little town. A glistering river twisted through the west side of the town, across the bridge stood the fortress of the falcon, a large fortress its battlements shining white, and high towers gleaming red. The town hidden in the shadow of a mountain, encased in a forest, The white bricks dazzling against the sun. Around the town a large wall stood, its wooden gates carved into two huge wings.A small paddock of horses were grazing at the entrance of the town. At the base of the mountain was the blacksmiths hall, its large forge billowing out grey and white smoke above the town.

Concept Idea - The dwarf mining city of Grormak Thor
"The sun rises on the dwarf mining town of Gromak Thor, built into the great mountain Esural. The town scaling up the cliff face, carts and lifts taking people and goods from floor to floor. The seven levels of the town varying in the uses of the Dwarven people. At the center of the town a maw like mouth shows the passage into the deep mind that dives into the heart of the mountain. At the base of the mountain the great Dwarven wall envelopes the base of the mountain, guarding the entrance lifts to the town. The hustle and grumble echo throughout the town as dwarfs and gnomes tinker away at the heart of the Gromak Mountain.
The city is split into seven levels the first level is the Guardians floor, the second is the lower quarter, the third is the merchants floor, the fourth floor is the miners floor, the fifth floor is the travelers quarters, the sixth is the upper quarter; and the seventh floor is the Thanes quarter.

Developing concepts
So i have started my development of my final project, for my university course. For my final year i will only be handing in one project. I have chosen to contuie my specialisation and work on 3D enviroment design. This is the aspect of game design that interests me. I will be choosing a setting to set my 3D work on now. I am still going to be working from areas in my in progress novel. I have slimmed down my idea to what i want to work on.
- Dwarf settlement (collection of objects)
- Main guild in Felbar (single object)
- Minerath (collection of objects)
- Elder Tree (collection of objects)
- Blackthorn Guild (single object)
- Floating ruins of Usuron (collection of objects)
- Earth Shrine (single object)
- Temple Of Light (single object)
- Caravan Train (collection of objects)
- Farmhouse.(single object)
All these areas are taken from the same setting, choosing one to focus on. As they are all part of the same setting (Tales Of Syfen) i am keen to develop all these areas and more. The main goal for me this year is a vast improvement on my 3D skills, while being ready to develop something at a professional standard, to start developing my game. Tales Of Syfen.
For each setting i want to create some concept art for each.
- Small amount of artwork, handful of buildings/ objects
- Full environment art piece
- Written Description of each area.
