Mark Feedback
After showing mark my three raw concepts we had a quick chat about what he thought. He also told me about a series called stargate that had a very similar base's as an anubis style alien theme. So we decided that shouldn't be the way i follow. This is primarily because we want something new and fresh to show off as my last project.
Mark really liked the concept of the lich phylactery and the idea it was in a place in between places. Whilst he thinks that the which doctor concept of it is a bit to precise on a too ridged idea. We also played with the idea of making the phylactery to perhaps beginning a meeting ground for the mages.
The other concept being the original dwarven town, i cut it a bit too raw he thought yet with the work i already have on it that can be easily thickened out. I am going to now look at the two ideas bulk them out a little bit more to show mark tomorrow.
Sharon Feedback
I was really struggling with what i wanted to work on, so i met up with sharon to talk about my contextual studies. I was very glad that i manged to see sharon it gave me alot to think about, I am going to focus on an editorial about the the similarities of our world of that of a huge online community.
Contextual studies notes
- Morality in games
- The burst of Multiplayer games
- Correspondence of landscapes in massive open world games
- Is acceptable behavior just expected online?
- who regulates abuse in games
- What punishments can follow for abusive behaviour
Lich Phylactery:
Description:
An area that a lich is keeping there organs and mystical/cursed items, my basic outline in my head is an area split into different sections, one for each organ. Each section i want to have its own theme. The overall area will have to have quite a different skydome, i was envisioning a space like area, with floating platforms. I was thinking a range of different areas for the level.
- Area for the lungs
- Area for the heart
- Area for an eye
- Area for the brain
- Area for the stomach
- Opening area
In my head i was thinking a having two floors that branch off into sections containing each area. I plan to sketch up a map shortly. Im liking the concept of this idea alot, and would like to focus alot into what this mage's character information throughout the progression.
Style: Horror, dark, alternative, magical, spectral.
Challenges
If i choose this project i would be jumping into areas i'm not 100% confident in. Areas such as
- particle affects
- Skydomes
- Floating objects
- Detailed assets (heart)
However with these challenges aside i am keen to learn and still want to push this idea maybe further than the original concept.
Mountain Town New concept
Description: A seven story structure built into the side of the mountain, the town is morphed into the mountain by the shamanic race that can control the earth around them. The buildings are morphed into shape from earth into structures. The area is split into different floors each with there own importance in the city.
- Upper quater
- Lower quater
- Spirit Area
- Merchants quarter
- Morphing point
- Warriors Terrace
- Earth breathers Lookout
Upon deciding on i wanted a different race who can meld stone and rock, i wanted this to really show out in there architecture, and how to portray that correctly. Also then thinking about there gods and way of life. leaving the full creative cycle still very much undeveloped, but it will still have a clear bases to work off. Using the previous dwarf sketches as simple reference and starting afresh with that in mind.
I am going to try and see mark one more time
